Guidelines
for pitches and submissions
The Dandelion Magazine was started to connect young people and early careers in horticulture and landwork. Through sharing experiences, stories, and creative expressions, we want to start conversations that matter to us about aspects within these industries and ways of life.
The purpose of the thematic cycle is to help pull together ideas and entangle together threads of collective vision, voice, and imagination.
We encourage many forms of conversation including essays, op-eds, poetry, films, photography, multimedia, and audio stories for example. Get in touch if you want to discuss your idea!

For pitches and submissions please email
Include in the subject "PITCH/SUBMISSION (whichever applies) - NAME - TITLE OF WORK (if available) - FORM OF WORK"
Please keep to 500 words or less
Clearly outline the story or idea you want to tell and express. If the work is already completed then provide a description of the work here.
Some questions you could cover include: what makes it interesting; why does it matter; what perspective are you bringing; how does it relate to the theme or your interpretation of the theme?
Please also provide a short introductory bio
If you have any questions or need any help do get in touch and we will do our best to respond and accommodate.
If your submission is time-sensitive or outside of this theme, then we still encourage you to get in touch as we may be able to accept your idea.
